A 555-yard par 5 with the first 350 yards being uphill. Also there is out of bounds on the entire left side of the hole. The seniors and ladies get a 100-yard break on this hole with their tees being moved up. Besides the out of bounds left, the fairway actually tilts slightly to the right making for an even more difficult tee shot. This is because a tee ball to the right side will likely bound into the trees guarding the right side of the fairway. Even with a good drive, the second shot is one of the most difficult at Maplehurst. It requires a fairway wood shot of some length and accuracy to set up a 3rd of 100 to 150 yards. Once on the green you are facing 3 different levels of green surface that can challenge your putting skills. Par is an excellent score on this hole and birdies are rare, even for the long hitters.
